Welcome!
This page is devoted to on-line learning resources for students and parents of the Hudson City School District. |
Online learning isn't new, but it's new to our students in this time of school closure. On this page you will find tips on setting up a study space so your student can effectively engage in on-line learning, calendars to keep them on-task, and other resources to help make the most of distance learning. Many colleges and universities offer online classes and there's no better time for students to learn how to make the most of their online education. This means learning new skills (like staying on-task, dealing with deadlines, limiting distractions, and building in time for online social interaction and yes, even getting some physical movement into the day).

Managing projects, multiple assignments and meets is sometimes overwhelming for students. The skills needed to be successful in this hybrid world are called "Executive Function Skills" - think of these as air-traffic control skills that help students manage multiple demands, complete diverse tasks, and attend to many different streams of information. For tips on how to train these skills in your adolescent, please click on the button to read a pdf about training Executive Function Skills.
